Demonstrate that you understand why particular types of graphical representation are used by graphing data using each of the following methods:
Stem and leaf diagram, pie chart, bar graph, histogram, line graph (or time series graph), strip graph, scatter diagram.
Select different sets of data from a reliable source (which should be acknowledged) showing world or New Zealand information which you find interesting and are appropriate for the graphical method being used. You could perhaps use information from the recent London Olympics to show or from 2011 Rugby World Cup. All graphical representations must be drawn by hand; the table of data used must be presented alongside the graphical representation.
Explain why you have selected a particular graphical method and/or what the method shows about the data to those viewing it.
Reflect on the different types of graphical representation and which types are most appealing/informative for the viewer.

Research other graphical methods of presenting data and present examples.
All students are expected to conference with Mrs Attard at least once during week 4.
Work is due Wednesday 13th November, all students are expected to produce at least one graph for each type listed as an absolute minimum along with their explanation as to why they chose the graphical method for that specific set of data and a reflection on the graphs produced.
